This book is a perfect match for those wanting to hear the Beauty and the Beast story in a new way. Robin McKinley does a beautiful job with adding imagery and imagination in her story. While she retells this classic story, she brings new fantasy to your imagination. She tells the story from the perspective of Beauty and does a fantastic job at bringing the story to life. While this story is fiction, she tells the story like it is and has a realistic feel and approach to her make believe story.

Some things I learned from this book was that you can take a fictional story and make it your own through imagination. I also learned that reading can have a way of making you feel apart of the story through imagination and realism.

I highly recommend this book, if you:

  • love the Beauty and the Beast movie and story line.

  • enjoy fictional stories.

  • want a new twist on the Beauty and the Beast.

  • above age 12 and love fairytales.

I really enjoyed the imagery throughout this book and getting to rethink the story in a new way. It was the perfect read for enjoyment and just for fun!
