May Reading

Here’s the monthly update on what I have planned to read this month. I tried to mix up the genres this month so hopefully there will be something you like or are interested in too!

  1. The Fringe Hours by Jessica N. Turner- A self help book that talks about ways to prioritize self-care and personal growth to become a better person overall. This book should be fairly quick to read. I’ll keep you updated on if it has good tips for self-care or not.

  2. Someone Else’s Bucket List by Amy T. Matthews- This book has someone who has cancer in it. I do not expect it to end well, but I also know nothing about it other than The main character is trying to fulfill her sister’s bucket list.

  3. The Vow by Kim & Krickitt Carpenter- This book is based off of true events from what I have heard. I haven’t ever watched the movie or read the book so I’m interested to see what sparked the idea for the story. I’ll let you know if I think it could actually be real or not.

  4. The Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey- This book is about… you guessed it… money. He writes about how we are the reason we are not living differently from everyone else. He talks about the responsibility it is to take care of your money by setting a new monthly budget. Yes, every month. He also mentions that debt should not be a tool and how our decisions will impact our financial circumstances. Mostly, I am excited to see if he has any good tips on how to spend and utilize your money in the best way.

  5. The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett- I remember reading this as a kid, but honestly, do not really remember the story. So it will be fun to reread and discover the characters and what they find.

  6. Reverie by Drew Taylor- This book is a Christian Romance Fiction book. I expect it to be pretty good and clean which will be fun to read! I’ll let you know more of the storyline as I get more into reading this one.

  7. It Doesn’t Have to be Crazy at Work by Jason Fried & David Heinemeier Hansson- I’m hoping this book will help me enjoy work a little more. We will see. It’s supposed to be about focusing on work-life balance and finding less distractions and more productivity by adapting to less of a “hustle culture”. If you’re struggling to find enjoyment in your work, maybe this is the book for you, but maybe it’s not because you don’t like self-help books as much.. I’m not really sure what you enjoy reading personally, but maybe I’m being optimistic here…

Overall, I hope I mixed up the genres of books this month so that there’s something that interests you personally. If not, maybe next month will have the book for you. Questions are always welcome! Hope you are having a great spring! Catch you later!
