January Reading

This month I really enjoyed most of the books that I read. Here’s an image to kind of see how long it took to read each book throughout the month. Hopefully, you’ll find it helpful in finding your next book!

Wildly Optimistic by Al Carraway is a fairly fast read. I had no problem getting through that book within a reasonable time period. She basically shares some of her life experiences and stories that have helped her with her relationship with Christ as well as stories that have allowed her to live in her current circumstance. Probably won’t re-read, however, it was still interesting and fun to read.

The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah took me a little while to get through, but did it take me for a ride. I could never have thought up the plot to this book. It was very intriguing and made me think about life in a different way. I may read this again someday if I get the opportunity.

No Pain, No Gaines by Chip Gaines was interesting for me. I honestly don’t remember too many of the main points of this book because I read it towards the beginning of the month.

The Giver of Stars by Jojo Moyes was a different kind of reading for me. It has a setting and plot very different from what I was initially expecting, but it was still very thought out and left me feeling hopeful.

Olivia’s Only Pretending by Rebecca Jo Jackson was such a fun read for me. If you haven’t read any of her Sweet River series, I would recommend giving them a try! They are low to almost no spice and capture your attention pretty well. Olivia in this book has such a fun and friendly personality it was hard to not enjoy this book.

In Your Dreams by Sarah Adams was a little different for me. I would say it’s probably equal to the same amount of spice as her When in Rome story. This book was interesting in a good way, but the plot was a little too be expected once you starting getting through the story. A lot of people are giving this a 5 star review so maybe you will too??

That’s a Great Question, I’d Love to Tell You by Elyse Myers has a lot of humor. I would describe it as the things that make you feel unsure about life sometimes. Myers tells her story of how she met her husband at a meat counter and later reconnected with him. Maybe won’t read again, but was still insightful.

The 3 audiobooks I listened to were Talking to Strangers by Malcom Gladwell, Lovelight Farms by B.K. Borison, and Raising Gender-Confident Kids by Kathy Koch and Jeff Myers.

The journey in January was so fun, I’m excited to see what great books I will discover in February! If you liked any of these books too, leave a comment below :)
