February Recap 2026
Hi! So I thought I would jump on and tell you what I actually got to read in February! The past month I was able to finish 8 books! Here’s what I read and my thoughts on the content.
I Who Have Never Known Men by Jacquelin Harpman- This dystopian fiction book was quite interesting. I’m not sure if I would read it again, however, it is very creative with how they created the story which is about these women who basically grew up in a cage. One thing to note about this books is there are no chapters or page breaks throughout all 184 pages so basically you want to keep reading in one sitting. Only that’s not always possible. Haha
The Unselected Journals of Emma M. Lion #6 and #7 by Beth Brower- I listened to these books on audio and while the narrator has been pretty entertaining, I had a hard time staying focused while listening to these two. I probably would suggest reading the physical copy before listening to them because I think it would be easier to follow. It feels like there are getting to be more and more characters as time goes on so I think it would be helpful to physically see the characters names.
The Correspondent by Virginia Evans- This was another book that has been quite popular online. It’s written through emails and letters so it feels similar to a journal in some ways only you have the recipient’s replies to the main characters emails/correspondence. Hopefully that made sense. I did enjoy this book, but I wouldn’t necessarily give it 5 stars since I couldn’t find what was the main point of the book.
The Maine Stop by Hollie Anderson- I started this book without reading the back which was kind of odd for me, however, I did enjoy the storyline of this book. Basically, Murphy Kennedy struggles feeling at home, but when she returns to her hometown, she finds her childhood friend, Banks which helps her find her place.
The Next Right Thing by Emily P. Freeman- The point of this book was to find the next right thing. I’m not sure I found that myself, however, I think the main point of the next right thing is to “quiet the fear of choosing wrong” and to stop second-guessing yourself with everything. I might do a longer review on this book in March, so be on watch for that if you are interested in this topic.
Evvie Drake Starts Over by Linda Holmes- I really quite loved this book. It did have some language, however, it had a very unique plot. The two main characters, Evvie and Dean both have things in their lives they don’t want to talk about very much. For Evvie, it’s her husband she doesn’t want to talk about because she became a widow and for Dean, it’s his career he doesn’t want to talk about. So they both agree not to discuss these things with each other.
Little Women by Louisa May Alcott- I won’t get too far into my review with this book as I will be finishing it in March. I basically would recommend reading when you have a lot of time on your hands. This book is very long, but has a cute story between sisters who each seem to be struggling with something in their lives. This one I will probably do a longer review in March once I finish the book.
Thanks for reading about what I read in February! Because I got stuck reading Little Women for well over a week now, I didn’t get to read The Perfect Rom-Com or One Little Chance that I mentioned in my February Reads post. I’m hoping to read One Little Chance in March since I didn’t get to it yet.
Let me know if you have read any of these books and your thoughts on them! Thanks for reading! Check out my March Reads post for what I’m reading next! 🙃
